IceHogs assign two to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday that they have assigned defenseman Brandon Anselmini and goaltender Collin Delia to the ECHL's Indy Fuel. The Fuel open their 2017 preseason schedule Friday night against the Fort Wayne Komets at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Anselmini, 24, appeared in 46 ECHL games with the Idaho Steelheads in 2016-17, finishing third in team defenseman scoring with 17 points (5g, 12a), in addition to logging 94 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 183-pound rearguard also saw time with the AHL's Texas Stars, logging three assists. Before turning professional, Anselmini spent four seasons with Ferris State University, where he collected 56 points (13g, 43a) in 149 total contests. In 2015-16, the Guelph, Ontario native led all Bulldog defensemen in point scoring with 17 points, before helping Ferris State to a WCHA Championship, earning a spot on the WCHA All-Tournament Team.

Delia, 23, spent the previous three seasons at Merrimack College, where he finished his NCAA career with a 21-24-10 record, alongside a 2.48 goals against average, a .912 save percentage and four shutouts. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound goaltender posted a career-high nine wins and three shutouts in 2016-17, en route to being named to a Hockey East Third Team All-Star. Prior to his collegiate career, Delia spent two seasons with the North American Hockey League's Amarillo Bulls. During his time in Juniors, the native Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. helped the Bulls to a Robertson Cup title in 2013, before winning the NAHL Community Service award in 2013-14.

Additionally, the Fuel announced that they have released forward Darby Llewellyn, defenseman Andrew Darrigo and goaltender Tyler Green from their training camp roster. Indy's preseason roster remains at 30 players, including 17 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders. All tickets for the 6:30 p.m. ET puck drop are just $10, and can be purchased at IndyFuelHockey.com or at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office.
