Larry McQueary

President and Chief Executive Officer
Larry joined the team during the 2015-16 season. He is the President, Chief Operating Officer & Governor of the Indy Fuel. Larry has vast experience in the world of sports marketing in executive leadership roles with Indiana Sports Corporation, USA Diving and Family Events. These provided great experience leading up to his current role overseeing the exciting and long-term growth of the Fuel.
Bill Stackhouse

Bill Stackhouse

Chief Financial Officer
Bill Stackhouse is the Company's Chief Financial Officer of the Indy Fuel. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Florida State University. Bill is also a director of the IYHA Junior Fuel.
Matthew Louck

Matthew Louck

Vice President of Operations
Matthew joined the team in December 2019. Prior to the Indy Fuel, he had worked with four minor league teams (Chattanooga Lookouts, Prince William Cannons, Cleveland Lumberjacks, and Cleveland Crunch), led the execution of world-class events including the World Gymnastics Championships and Olympic Trials in Anaheim, the Visa American Cup at Madison Square Garden in New York, and a 48-city post-Olympic tour. Most recently Matthew was the VP of Marketing for Bonnier Events, which produced a portfolio of over 40 national events and expos. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, binge watching Netflix documentaries, and looking for that next hobby.
Nicole Shackelford

Nicole Shackelford

Vice President of Brand Partnerships
Nicole brings 20+ years of experience working in the sports and entertainment industry. She started her career in the media industry with a long tenure at CBS Broadcasting working in various roles including marketing, promotions and sales. She also helped in the development of the CBS Marketing Group, a vehicle to expand non-traditional platforms, venue sponsorships, concerts, and sports marketing with professional athletes, providing exclusive sponsorship programs, revenue and brand awareness for partners. Following CBS, Nicole moved to Indianapolis as Sr. Director of Sales for Andretti Autosport, traveling and selling as part of the commercial team, which in 2016 won her the Indianapolis 500. Since then, Nicole has moved to the S&E agency side of the business working with world class brands, talent acquisition, events, consumer programs and more. Nicole is very excited to be part of the growth happening at Indy Fuel, especially with the addition of the new Fishers Arena and thinks it’s a great time and opportunity to reimagine new possibilities of connecting brands with our fans, consumers and community.
Halston Mavrick

Halston Mavrick

Director of Brand Partnerships
Halston joined the team March of 2019. Halston was born and raised in Central Indiana and attended IUPUI. She is excited to bring her experience in hospitality and management to her role at the Fuel. Halston enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time outdoors with her family.
Ben Pulley

Ben Pulley

Director of Ticket Sales
Ben joined the team prior to the 2014-15 season. Before the Fuel, Ben worked for the Indiana Ice in hockey operations. A graduate of Purdue University, Ben has been involved in many levels of hockey including: juniors, travel and coaching. Ben enjoys growing the sport of hockey in Central Indiana.
Justin Sweigart

Justin Sweigart

Director of Merchandising

Justin joined the Fuel in 2023. Previously he has worked as a game day employee in The Garage shop for the Fuel and still works as a game day employee in Merchandising for the Indianapolis Indians in addition to several years’ experience in the board game industry. Justin received a BA Degree from the University of Illinois – Springfield in 2003 and got his first experience in sports working for the Springfield Sliders summer collegiate baseball team. Growing up in northern Illinois, he grew up watching and playing hockey and still watches it obsessively to this day. When not watching the greatest game in the world, Justin likes to spend his time podcasting about sci-fi shows, golfing, playing video games and board games, and trying to be the best “Cat Dad” he can be to Shmee, Pepita, and Kylo Bean.

Emma Retzer

Emma Retzer

Director of Partnership Fulfillment

Emma joined the Indy Fuel as a game operations intern in 2021 before being hired onto the staff full time. Emma was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, and has a Sport Management degree from the University of Georgia. In her free time, she enjoys baking, running, and taking care of her high-maintenance goldendoodle, Georgia.

Leighann Strollo

Leighann Strollo

Director of Media Relations
Leighann is a New York native who joined the Indy Fuel in August of 2022. She attended IUPUI, and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Journalism. She previously ran social media and produced written content for multiple SB Nation hockey sites, including The Ice Garden which focuses on all levels of women’s hockey. Additionally, she spent four years at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis as a coach and staffing supervisor. In her free time, she enjoys game nights with friends, rooting for a Yankees 28th ring, and loving everyone else’s pets despite being allergic.
Joe Zollo

Joe Zollo

Director of Digital Media

Joe joined the Fuel in October of 2023 after previously working with multiple teams throughout the sports industry, including the Boston Red Sox, Manchester Monarchs, and Orlando Solar Bears. Most recently, Joe was the Director of Entertainment & On Field Host for the Bismarck Larks Baseball Team. He's traveled across the country hosting different events including two Savannah Bananas games on their first-ever Banana Ball World Tour. Joe studied Sports Marketing & Media at Full Sail University, graduating in 2018. In his free time, Joe enjoys rooting for his Boston sports teams, traveling, playing sports, and playing video games.

Patrick Gigerich

Patrick Gigerich

Director of Community Relations
Patrick, a native of Indy, joined the Indy Fuel as a game operations intern for the 2022-2023 season. He graduated from Butler University in May 2023 with a degree in Strategic Communication and was shortly named the Community Relations Coordinator. In his free time, Patrick loves to attend sporting events around Indianapolis, play video games, and spend time with friends and family.
Ivan Canfield

Ivan Canfield

Director of Game Operations
Ivan joined the Indy Fuel as a community relations and game operations intern for the 2022-23 season before being named the Marketing Coordinator and Game Operations in May of 2023. A native of Bryan, OH, he previously served as a marketing and development intern with the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department, where he earned a degree in Sport Management. While serving as a Fuel intern, Ivan earned his master’s in Sport Management from the University of Indianapolis. Outside of work, Ivan spends his free time going to concerts, attending sporting events, reading new books, and binge-watching new shows.
Sam Burris

Sam Burris

Director of Fan Engagement
Sam joined the Fuel in July 2022 after completing an internship with the team during the 2021-22 season. Sam is originally from Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University in the spring of 2022 with a degree in sports marketing. He has two dogs, Bella and Tito.
Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith

Play-By-Play Broadcaster
Andrew Smith has been a part of the Indy Fuel family since the franchise began in 2014. Smith has served as the Fuel's play-by-play announcer since 2018. Prior to that, he spent four years as the public address announcer. Smith's exciting calls of Fuel hockey earned him the ECHL's Broadcaster of the Year award in 2021. He was also named the Marv Bates Indiana Sportscaster of the Year in 2022 by the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. Smith has been a part of hockey in Indianapolis for more than two decades as a newspaper reporter, off-ice official, public address announcer and color commentator, working for the Indianapolis Ice of the IHL & CHL and the Indiana Ice of the USHL. A veteran broadcaster, Smith spent five years as the play-by-play voice for Franklin College football and basketball and has broadcast high school sports in Central Indiana. Away from the rink, he is a teacher and serves as the sports information director at New Palestine High School. Smith holds degrees from Indiana University and Indiana Wesleyan University. He lives in New Palestine with his wife, Anne, and their two sons.
Gavin Spahr

Gavin Spahr

Senior Account Executive
Gavin, who is from the suburbs of Chicago, joined the Indy Fuel in January 2023. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Sports Marketing and Management. Before joining the Fuel, Gavin worked for the Indianapolis Indians as a Ticket Services Assistant and the Chicago Steel Hockey Team as an Account Executive. In his free time, Gavin loves to stay active by playing hockey, pickleball and golf.

Nelson Roetter

Senior Account Executive

Nelson, a native of Indy, joined the Indy Fuel in May 2022. He graduated from IUPUI with a degree in Sports Management. After working with the Indy Fuel for a Sports Management class in 2019 he fell in love with the team. He is excited to bring his experience with customer relations and sales to his role with the Fuel. Outside of work, Nelson loves outdoor activities such as pickleball and going golfing. In his free time, he spends time with his wife and two dogs named Gemma and Tina.

Nathanial Ferrier

Nathanial Ferrier

Senior Account Executive

A native of Lebanon, Indiana, Nathanial graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Recreation and Sports Management. He was a group sales intern for the Indiana Pacers in 2019 and since then, knew he wanted to work and grow in the sports industry. Outside of work, he likes to play golf, hang out with his wife and three dogs and play video games.

Jake Barton

Graphic Designer

Jake, a native of the Indianapolis area, joined the Indy Fuel in July of 2024. He graduated from Indiana State University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and previously worked as a designer for the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever. He loves playing video games, and is the proud father of two cats.
