Nicole Shackelford

Leighann Strollo
Leighann is a New York native who joined the Indy Fuel in August of 2022. She attended IUPUI, and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Journalism. She previously ran social media and produced written content for multiple SB Nation hockey sites, including The Ice Garden which focuses on all levels of women’s hockey. Additionally, she spent four years at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis as a coach and staffing supervisor. In her free time, she enjoys game nights with friends, rooting for a Yankees 28th ring, and traveling.

Lauryn Dillon
Lauryn joined the team in May 2025, bringing a wealth of experience in sports management and event coordination. Prior to her role at Fuel, she served as the Director of Community Outreach for the University of Alabama’s D1 ACHA team and was also the Head of Gameday Operations for College Hockey South. Lauryn specializes in game operations and presentation, with a strong focus on enhancing the overall fan experience. Outside of work, she enjoys running, crafting specialty coffee, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Nelson Roetter
Nelson, a native of Indy, joined the Indy Fuel in May 2022. He graduated from IUPUI with a degree in Sports Management. After working with the Indy Fuel for a Sports Management class in 2019 he fell in love with the team. He is excited to bring his experience with customer relations and sales to his role with the Fuel. Outside of work, Nelson loves outdoor activities such as pickleball and going golfing. In his free time, he spends time with his wife and two dogs named Gemma and Tina.

Sam Burris
Sam joined the Indy Fuel and Fishers Freight organizations after completing an internship with the Fuel during the 2021-22 season. Sam is originally from Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University in the spring of 2022 with a degree in Sports Marketing and Management. In his free time, Sam enjoys golfing, attending baseball games, playing video games, and hanging out with his dog, Tito.

Nathanial Ferrier
A native of Lebanon, Indiana, Nathanial graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Recreation and Sports Management. He was a group sales intern for the Indiana Pacers in 2019 and since then, knew he wanted to work and grow in the sports industry. Outside of work, he likes to play golf, hang out with his wife and three dogs and play video games.

Patrick Gigerich
Patrick joined the team as a game operations intern for the 2022-2023 season and began full-time as the Community Relations Coordinator in June 2023. He holds a degree in Strategic Communication with a minor in Journalism from Butler University. While at Butler, Patrick wrote articles for the Student Government Publication and played for the Butler Esports Rocket League team where he won a BIG EAST Championship. He moved to Director of Community Outreach in June 2025. In his free time, Patrick enjoys volunteering in the community, attending sporting events around Indy, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family.

Amanda Ruona
Amanda Ruona, a Wisconsin native, joined the Indy Fuel in June 2025. She holds a degree in Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies with a minor in Sports Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During college, she gained experience with the Wisconsin PGA and Learfield’s Badger Sports Properties, supporting Wisconsin Athletics and its partners. Most recently, Amanda worked with the Green Bay Packers’ Sales and Partnerships team during the 2024–25 season, managing partner relationships and contributing to revenue growth. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, concerts, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. Amanda is excited to be in Indy and support the Fuel and their incredible partners.

Kylie Wagner
Kylie Wagner, a St. Louis native, joined the Indy Fuel full-time in May of 2025. She is a Butler University graduate who majored in Sports Media and Strategic Communications. During her time in school, she worked for the Butler University Football team, the NBA All-Star Games, Fox Sports, and the Indy Fuel for the 2023-24 season. Most recently, Kylie was the full-season intern with the St. Louis Blues for their 2024-25 season. In her free time, Kylie enjoys traveling, being outside, listening to live music, and spending time with her friends and family. She is very excited to be back in Indy!

Drew Hansgen
Drew joined the Fuel in 2021 as a game day employee working in the Garage. A native of Catlin, Illinois, he has a degree in broadcasting from Illinois State University. Before joining the Fuel, he worked as a radio D.J. in Danville, Illinois, co-hosting a morning show and providing play by play for high school and college basketball and football games. He also worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. He currently resides in Lebanon, Indiana with his wife Allison and their children Cecelia, Jack, and Gus. In his free time, Drew enjoys golf, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks, and spending time with his family.

Katherine Gallagher
Katherine joined the Fuel in June of 2025. She is an Indianapolis native and holds a Master’s of Science in Sport Management from the University of Indianapolis and a Bachelor’s of Science in Sport Marketing and Management from Indiana University-Bloomington. She was awarded the 2025 Major of the Year Award for Sport Management at the University of Indianapolis and during her time as a Master’s student, she served as a Graduate Assistant for the Horizon League, an NCAA Division I Conference office. Katherine is excited to continue her career in the city she loves the most and engage with partners, fans, and everyone she meets. She is engaged to Jimmy Snyder and is getting married in Indy in 2026! Katherine enjoys master’s swimming, volunteering for the Indiana Sports Corp, watching the Pacers, hanging out with her family, and being an aunt to 3 (almost 4!) nieces and nephews.

Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith has been a part of the Indy Fuel family since the franchise began in 2014. Smith has served as the Fuel's play-by-play announcer since 2018. Prior to that, he spent four years as the public address announcer. Smith's exciting calls of Fuel hockey earned him the ECHL's Broadcaster of the Year award in 2021. He was also named the Marv Bates Indiana Sportscaster of the Year in 2022 by the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. Smith has been a part of hockey in Indianapolis for more than two decades as a newspaper reporter, off-ice official, public address announcer and color commentator, working for the Indianapolis Ice of the IHL & CHL and the Indiana Ice of the USHL. A veteran broadcaster, Smith spent five years as the play-by-play voice for Franklin College football and basketball and has broadcast high school sports in Central Indiana. Away from the rink, he is a teacher and serves as the sports information director at New Palestine High School. Smith holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and Southern New Hampshire University. He lives in New Palestine with his wife, Anne, and their two sons.
