INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Thursday that they have claimed forward John McInnis off of waivers from the South Carolina Stingrays.
McInnis, 28, has marked two goals in seven games this season with South Carolina. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward brings 193 games of ECHL experience to the Fuel lineup, recording 49 goals and 61 assists over stints with the Stingrays, Reading Royals, Utah Grizzlies, Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades. A graduate of Minnesota State University (Mankato), McInnis made his professional debut at the end of the 2013-14, appearing in two games for the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters.
The Fuel continue a six-game homestand at Indiana Farmers Coliseum this weekend, hosting the Fort Wayne Komets Friday night before welcoming the Kansas City Mavericks to town on Saturday.
