GAME PREVIEW: FUEL AT MALLARDS

SATURDAY, JANUARY 13 - 8:05 P.M.

TAXSLAYER CENTER, MOLINE, ILL.

BROADCAST INFO: 1070THEFAN.COM, ECHL.TV

The Story: After dropping game one of a doubleheader in Moline on Friday night, the Indy Fuel (13-17-2-1) look to bounce back in Saturday's rematch with the Quad City Mallards (9-21-2-1) at TaxSlayer Center. The Fuel's final game before the ECHL All-Star break is set for a 8:05 p.m. start time in Illinois, with coverage starting at 7:30 p.m. on 1070TheFan.com/IndyFuel.

Despite holding leads of 2-0 and 3-2, Indy wasn't able to close out the Mallards on Friday, succumbing to a late Quad City rally in an eventual 5-3 setback. The loss snapped the Fuel's three-game road winning streak, while the Mallards' victory ended a 13-game losing streak dating back to early December.

Sam Warning tallied two of his three points Friday in the third period, as Quad City outscored Indy 3-1 in the final frame to secure the win. Josh Shalla notched two goals and an assist for the Fuel, who fell to 10 points back of the fifth place Kalamazoo Wings in the Central Division standings.

Shall We Score?: Indy's most prolific point producer from last season has picked up right where he left off. In three games since rejoining the Fuel, forward Josh Shalla has put up four goals and one assist, posting a pair of multi-goal games. The veteran forward from Oshawa, Ontario tallied a career-high 60 points (32g, 28a) in 2016-17, including 42 points (22g, 20a) in 48 games following a mid-season trade to Indy.

Inside the Matchup: The home team continued its dominance of the season series between Indy and Quad City. The Fuel enter Saturday looking for its first win of the season at TaxSlayer Center, as each of the first six meetings between the Central Division rivals has been won by the team defending home ice. Friday's loss dropped Indy to 2-2-1-1 against Quad City this season, and 3-5-2-3 all time in Moline.

Scouting Report: Forward Sam Warning (15g, 10a) has been lethal against the Fuel all season long. Through six games against Indy this season, Quad City's leading scorer has put up six goals and two assists ... Forward Ryan McGrath (6g, 8a) has found the net in two straight games, extending a point streak to three contests (2g, 2a).
