INDIANAPOLIS - The National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks announced Friday that they have reassigned forwards Nathan Noel and Matheson Iacopelli from the ECHL's Indy Fuel to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs. The IceHogs begin the Calder Cup Playoffs Saturday as they take on the Chicago Wolves at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
Noel, 20, has seen action in 17 games with the IceHogs this season, logging one goal and 18 penalty minutes. The native of St. John's, Newfoundland tallied 11 points (4g, 7a) in 21 games with Indy, in addition to tacking on two goals and one assist in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Iacopelli, 23, scored 19 points (11g, 8a) in 50 games in Rockford in 2017-18, alongside a plus-7 rating. While with the Fuel, the rookie from Brownstown, Mich. notched nine goals and one assist in 10 games, though he missed the club's final two regular season games and the playoffs due to injury.
