INDIANAPOLIS - The NHL's Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday afternoon that they have reassigned goaltender Kevin Lankinen from the ECHL's Indy Fuel to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, while recalling former Indy netminder Collin Delia from the IceHogs.
Lankinen, 23, appeared in two games during his most recent stint in Indy, stopping 58 of 67 shots in a pair of Fuel losses. The native of Helsinki, Finland is 4-2-0 in six appearances with Indy this season, alongside a 3.18 goals against average and an .893 save percentage.
In four outings with Rockford this season, Lankinen is 1-2-1 with a 2.69 goals against average an a .889 save percentage. The netminder earned his first AHL victory with a 36-save performance on Dec. 2 against the San Antonio Rampage.
Signing a one-year NHL contract with the Blackhawks prior to this season, Lankinen helped HIFK to a Liiga Bronze Medal in the Finnish Elite League in 2017-18.
