INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Tuesday that they have acquired defenseman Reggie Traccitto from the Brampton Beast. Traccitto satisfies the future considerations owed to the Fuel from an October deal that sent the ECHL playing rights to goaltender Étienne Marcoux to Brampton.
Traccitto, 29, has two goals and one assist in 13 games with the Beast this season, including a goal in Brampton's 6-2 loss to the Wheeling Nailers this morning. The 6-foot, 207-pound defenseman returned to the Beast lineup on Feb. 2, after missing over three months with an upper body injury.
In his fourth season as a professional, Traccitto has collected 27 goals and 50 assists in 205 total ECHL games with Beast, Allen Americans and Ontario Reign. The native of Oakville, Ontario recorded at least 25 points in each of his last two seasons, setting career highs in both goals (13) and points (32) in 2017-18.
Traccitto made his pro debut in 2010-11, appearing in eight games for the Ontario Reign before pursuing a collegiate career at the University of Prince Edward Island. In parts of five collegiate seasons with the Panthers, the defenseman tallied 97 points (37g, 60a) in 120 games. Following his senior season, Traccitto earned a PTO with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, appearing in two games.
The Fuel return to Central Division play with a critical three-in-three set this weekend, beginning Friday in Cincinnati. Following the trip to U.S. Bank Arena, Indy hosts the Kalamazoo Wings Saturday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum before visiting the Toledo Walleye on Sunday afternoon.
