PRINCETON, N.J. - Indy Fuel forward Mathew Thompson is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for March after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +13.
Thompson posted an even or better rating in 11 of his 14 games during the month, including a +4 on March 16 at Reading and a +3 on March 24 against Cincinnati. The rookie forward has tallied points in each of his last seven games, tied for the second-longest active point streak in the league. In 12 games since March 8, Thompson has racked up eight goals and 10 assists, including five multi-point outings.
In 62 games this season, the 25-year-old from Bolton, Ontario leads all Fuel rookies in scoring with 48 points (20g, 28a), while posting a +8 rating. Joining Indy at the end of the 2017-18 season, Thompson has recorded 22 goals and 32 assists in 69 total ECHL games.
Prior to turning pro, Thompson recorded 128 points (61g-67a) in 105 career games at Adrian College.
