MOVING NORTH: Falling to the Adirondack Thunder by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday, Indy will be looking to snap a seven-game winless streak on Friday against the Maine Mariners. Meeting the Mariners for the first time in franchise history, the Fuel will be facing a team that hasn't won back-to-back games since November 16.
THE MATCHUP: Indy arrives in Portland, Maine having lost seven straight games, six out of the seven games finishing as one-goal games. In their first matchup with a North Division team this season, Indy fell to the Adirondack Thunder, giving up four, even-strength goals. Maine hosts the Fuel for the first time in their franchise history and will be looking to string multiple wins together after beating Worcester on Tuesday night in overtime.
TEAM LEADERS: Earning an assist in Wednesday's matchup with Adirondack, Spencer Watson continues to lead the Fuel in points, earning eight goals and 11 assists in 17 games in a Fuel uniform. Scoring the first goal for the Fuel in Wednesday's game, Dylan McLaughlin has earned a goal in three out of his last five games in a Fuel uniform and has earned four goals and three assists in eight games. Leading the Mariners and sitting 11th in the league in points is third-year pro Dillan Fox. Fox has appeared in 16 games for the Mariners and has averaged 1.19 points per game, scoring nine goals and 10 assists.
IN THE CREASE: Similar to the Fuel, Maine has deployed two goaltenders throughout the 2019-20 season. Connor Lacouvee and Tom McCollum have split the season so far, allowing 52 goals in 17 games. Lacouvee currently leads the Mariners in the stats columns, earning a 2.97 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. Backstopping the Fuel on Wednesday night, Charles Williams stopped 23 of 27 shots by the Adirondack Thunder. Williams has played the last three games for the Fuel, stopping 75 out of the 85 shots he faced.
LOOKING AHEAD: Dropping the first game of the three-game road trip in Adirondack the Fuel will travel to Maine and Worcester before returning home to Indianapolis to open the month of December with two, weekday matchups at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
