Indy Opens Road Swing in South Carolina

FIRST MEETING: Coming off of three straight wins, Indy will play it's first game of a three-in-three at South Carolina on Friday night. Neither team has met since March 26, 2017, where Indy came away with a 4-1 win at North Charleston Coliseum. Although Indy has only met the Stingrays twice in five years, the Fuel shut down South Carolina longest ever win streak at 23 games. Falling by a score of 3-2 in a shootout on March 27, 2015, the Stingrays winning streak was snapped by the Indy Fuel, ending what is the longest win streak in ECHL history. Entering Friday night, the Stingrays have not lost a game since October 23 while Indy is riding a three-game win streak before starting their trip south.

THE MATCHUP: Coming into Friday night, the Indy Fuel are 6-1 when scoring first while South Carolina comes into Friday with an 8-1 record when getting on the board first. Indy is one of three Central Division teams that have not played a South Division team yet but will face four of them in the next week. After going 1-for-4 on the power play on Wednesday night, Indy sits in 7th in the league in the overall power-play standings and in five road games, Indy's power play has scored on seven out of 21 chances, putting them in second in the ECHL.

PAVING THE WAY: Alex Krushelnyski registered a goal and an assist on Wednesday night, cementing his first place spot on the team with five goals and 10 assists through 10 games. Behind Krushelnyski is Spencer Watson, who snapped a nine-game point streak after failing to earn a point in Wednesday's matchup against Kansas City. Leading the Stingrays in points is Casey Bailey, who has earned eight goals and three assists in nine games. Bailey is tied for points with Dan DeSalvo although DeSalvo has only one goal through nine games with the Stingrays.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Leading both the league and the Stingrays in goals-against average is goaltender Parker Milner. Under contract with the AHL's Hershey Bears, Milner has played in five games for South Carolina, earning a league-high, 1.38 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage. Logan Thompson has split games with Milner appearing in four games, earning a 2.67 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage. Chase Marchand is sitting in 11th in the ECHL having earned a .258 goals-against average through five games as well as a .910 save percentage. Both Marchand and Charles Williams have split the season so far, each goaltender having played five games each.

LOOKING AHEAD: Indy plays their first game of four games in six days against the Stingrays. Saturday night, Indy will visit the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the Atlanta Gladiators before heading to Jacksonville to face the Icemen. The Fuel will return home on Friday, November 22 to host the Wheeling Nailers before heading on the road to face the Cincinnati Cyclones for the fourth time this season on November 23.
