Indy Takes on First Place Toledo

FIRST TIMERS: Friday night's game will be the first time that Indy will face Toledo this season. In the first matchup out of 13 against the Walleye throughout the 2019-20 season, Indy will be looking to get back on the winning track after falling to Fort Wayne last Saturday. After defeating the Wheeling Nailers in a morning game on Wednesday, Toledo comes into Saturday having won four out of their last five games.

THE MATCHUP: In five years as a franchise, Indy has only defeated the Walleye four times at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Toledo has been on the winning side of the 29 matchups between the two teams, enjoying a 23-4-1-1 record. Sitting in sixth place in the Central Division, two points on Friday night would put Indy one point away from being tied for fourth place in the division.

GOING STREAKING: Two Fuel players come into Saturday having earned a point in every game this season. Spencer Watson and Alex Krushelnyski are both averaging more than a point per game and look to continue that on Friday night. Alex Krushelnyski leads the team in points with 3 goals and eight assists in seven games. Riding a seven-game point streak alongside Krushelnyski, Watson has earned five goals and five assists in seven games this season. Heading into Friday's matchup Karl El-Mir is currently tied for the league lead among rookies with three power play goals.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Friday's matchup is the first time either of Indy's goaltenders will face the Walleye this season. Charles Williams is coming off of his second loss of the season on Saturday against Fort Wayne while Chase Marchand is looking to get back on the winning track after falling against the Cincinnati Cyclones on October 26. A familiar foe in Indianapolis, Pat Nagle has played seven out of eight games for the Walleye this season, earning a 2.81 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.

LOOKING AHEAD: After taking on the Walleye on Friday night, Indy will turn their sights to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday for the third matchup of the season at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The Fuel will finish off the three-game homestand on Wednesday, November 13 against the Kansas City Mavericks before heading south for a three-game road trip.
