ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT PRESENTED BY MARIAN UNIVERSITY INDIANAPOLIS - ALEX WIDEMAN
Alex Wideman was a familiar face to Indianapolis throughout his career in the United States. He played juniors in the USHL for the Indiana Ice in 115 games scoring 51 points. After juniors, Wideman took his talents to the University of Miami (Ohio) where he appeared in 140 games over his four years of eligibility. After his senior year, Wideman signed an ATO with the Binghamton Senators which led to an official AHL contract.
In 2016, Wideman would sign with the Fuel. During his two years in Indy, Wideman would score 103 points while appearing in 123 games. In 2017, Wideman was apart of the playoff squad appearing in 4 games totalling 2 points. In 2018, Wideman left the Fuel for the Cincinnati Cyclones where he appeared in 63 games and netting 62 points. This season, Wideman ventured overseas to the DEL2 where he is playing for the Eispiraten Crimmitschau where he currently averages a little over a point per game.
