Fuel Face Rematch with Toledo After Thursday's Win

Fuel Face Rematch with Toledo After Thursday's Win

BACK TO BACK: After winning Thursday night's game in dramatic fashion, the Indy Fuel head to Toledo for the second half of the home-and-home series on Friday night. Friday's game will be the first time the two teams will meet one another in Toledo, Indy coming in with a 2-0 record against the Walleye this season, although both games coming at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

THE MATCHUP: Indy has met the Walleye twice this season, taking the first game 4-2 and the second 4-3, scoring three straight goals in the opening period in both games. The Fuel have struggled in the past five years to put together consistent wins against the Walleye, especially at the Huntington Center, only having won two games out of 12 on the road.

LEADING THE PACK: Tallying the opening goal on Thursday night, Spencer Watson extended his point streak to 12 games earning four goals and 12 assists. Leading the Walleye with two goals on Thursday night as well as 13 goals and 13 assists through 23 games is Josh Kestner. With two goals in Thursday's matchup, Kestner has five goals and two assists through his last five games leading up to Friday night.

IN THE CREASE: Riding the wave of three wins in a row and a win in all four of his last starts, Charles Williams has led the Fuel in save percentage, amassing a .913 save percentage through 15 games. Splitting the season with Chase Marchand, Williams has earned a similar 2.65 goals-against average while Marchand has earned himself a 2.56 goals-against average of his own. After being acquired in a trade from the South Carolina Stingrays, Billy Christopoulos has backstopped the Walleye for two games in a row and five games so far this season. Through five games Christopoulos has earned himself a 3.13 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. Christopoulos has split games with Filip Larsson, who has lost two out of his last three games.

LOOKING AHEAD: Indy closes out the home-and-home series with the Toledo Walleye on Friday night, before returning home on Saturday to host the Kalamazoo Wings in their annual Teddy Bear Toss. After playing their third game in three days, the Fuel will face two, division opponents next weekend in the Toledo Walleye and Fort Wayne Komets.
