Fuel Meet Mavericks for Third Time

THIRD TIMES A CHARM: Having won three out of their last four games, Indy turns their sights to a difficult week, starting with a Tuesday night matchup against the Kansas City Mavericks. Winning the first two out of four matchups this season against the Mavericks, Indy will be looking to continue their winning ways on Tuesday night and make it four wins in their last five games.

THE MATCHUP: Indy has met the Mavericks twice already this season, dominating the first game by a score of 6-2 and winning the second game in overtime at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Kansas City comes into Tuesday night having won four out of their last five games, losing to the Wichita Thunder 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Fuel are heading into a difficult stretch of games, playing four games in the next five days, three of them coming against Central Division opponents this weekend.

LEADING THE PACK: Two players are tied for first place in points on the Kansas City roster, each player sitting at 16 points apiece. Rocco Carzo leads the Mavericks, scoring eight goals and eight assists through 21 games with the Mavericks. Carzo shares the team lead with Mitch Hults, who was called up to Stockton on November 23. Spencer Watson continues to lead the Fuel in both goals and assists, earning 10 goals and 15 assists. After several call-ups by the Rockford IceHogs, Bobby MacIntyre is second on the team with five goals and nine assists in 21 games with the Fuel.

IN THE CREASE: Stopping 31 shots during Thursday's game against Cincinnati Cyclones, Charles Williams' earned his second win in a row. Earning a 2.87 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage through 13 games, Williams has split games with Chase Marchand this season. Nick Schneider has played the majority of games for the Mavericks this season, appearing in 13 games and earning a 2.80 goals-against average and .901 save percentage. Schneider appeared in the previous meeting between the two teams, making 29 saves in Kansas City's 4-3 overtime loss.

LOOKING AHEAD: After Tuesday night's game against the Mavericks, Indy returns home to play three games in three days against Central Division opponents. The Fuel will host the Toledo Walleye on Thursday before heading to Toledo on Friday for the second half of the home-and-home series. Returning home on Saturday, the Fuel will host the Kalamazoo Wings in their annual Teddy Bear Toss.
