Indy Hosts 4th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Against Kalamazoo

FIRST DATE: Dropping the second half of the home-and-home series with the Toledo Walleye on Friday night, the Indy Fuel close out their stretch of three games in three days with a Saturday night matchup against the Kalamazoo Wings for Indy's annual Teddy Bear Toss.

THE MATCHUP: The Fuel have not met the Wings yet this season and come into Saturday's game five points ahead of them in the Central Division standings. The Wings have struggled to put together consistent wins this season, having lost four out of their last five games. Indy enters Saturday night having lost to Toledo on Friday but have won three out of their last five games.

LEADING THE PACK: Appearing in 24 games with the Fuel this season, Spencer Watson sits in fifth in the ECHL in points, earning 13 goals and 17 assists. The third-year forward is currently riding a 13-game point streak, tallying six goals and ten assists over the 13 games. Dylan Sadowy leads the Wings in goals and points this season, having earned 14 goals and nine assists through 20 games. The Brampton, Ontario native is currently second in the ECHL with six power play goals.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Although going 1-for-7 on Friday night against the Walleye, Indy's power play remains in third place in the league, scoring on 22.8% of their chances. Spencer Watson scored Indy's lone power play goal on Friday, giving him 12 power play points in the 2019-20 season (4g, 8a). Kalamazoo enters Saturday night as the second most penalized team in the league, averaging 19 penalty minutes per game, while Indy continues to be the least penalized team in the league, averaging just 9.5 penalty minutes per game. The busy Wings penalty kill sits in 25th in the league, having killed off 78% of their penalties.

LOOKING AHEAD: After hosting the Kalamazoo Wings in their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday night, the Fuel will close out their three-in-three and head into a slow week for their standards. Indy will visit the Fort Wayne Komets next Friday before hosting the Toledo Walleye again on Saturday in two, very important Central Division matchups.
