Thursday's game is also the beginning of three games in three days against Central Division opponents. The Fuel will close out the three straight games on Saturday against the Kalamazoo Wings during their annual Teddy Bear Toss.
THE MATCHUP: Indy has met the Walleye once this season, taking the game 4-2 after scoring three straight goals in the opening period. Through five years as a franchise, the Fuel have struggled against Toledo, putting together a 7-21-2-0 record. Toledo has battled for first place in the Central Division with the Cincinnati Cyclones, currently sitting in third in the division with 27 points.
LEADING THE PACK: Through 22 games in a Fuel uniform, Spencer Watson leads the team with 10 goals and 17 assists. The third-year forward is currently riding an 11 game point streak heading into Thursday nights matchup, earning three goals and 12 assists through the 11 games. Leading the Walleye with 11 goals and 13 assists through 22 games is Josh Kestner. The 2019 Kelly Cup champion has four goals and three assists through his last five games.
IN THE CREASE: Making 32 saves on Tuesday night, Charles Williams has earned back-to-back wins. Earning a .911 save percentage and a 2.65 goals-against average, Williams has earned a win in his last three starts leading back to November 30 against Worcester. Appearing in 10 games this season, Chase Marchand has registered a 2.56 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. After being acquired by the Walleye on November 29, Billy Christopoulos has earned four wins as well as a 3.00 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Christopoulos has split games with Filip Larsson, who has lost two out of his last three games.
