FIRST TIME VISIT: Entering their fourth game in five days, the Indy Fuel visits the Toledo Walleye on Saturday night. The Fuel have previously met the Walleye four times this season, taking home three out of the four matchups. Saturday's game will be the second time that Indy visits the Walleye at the Huntington Center, falling 6-2 in the previous matchup.
THE MATCHUP: Indy comes into Saturday's game having lost four out of their last five games, earning points in three games. Entering their seventh game in nine days, the Fuel will be looking to turn their fortunes around on Saturday before having just two games next weekend. Riding a four-game winning streak, the Walleye will be aiming to keep their winning ways on Saturday night against the Fuel. Prior to Saturday, Toledo has only hosted the Fuel once but will entertain them in back to back games on January 10th and 11th.
TEAM LEADERS: Scoring two goals on Friday against Fort Wayne, Spencer Watson continues his lead as the Fuel's top point scorer. Appearing in 31 games with the Fuel the third-year pro has registered 19 goals and 18 assists, putting him in fifth place in the ECHL's points standings. Behind Watson, Bobby MacIntyre leads the team in assists with 20 through 33 games, earning three assists in his last five games. Having earned 35 points in 30 games this season, Josh Kestner leads the Walleye in points. Tied in points with Kestner, Shane Berschbach has earned 11 goals and 24 assists through 28 games with the Walleye. Berschbach is averaging 1.25 points per game heading into Saturday night.
GOALTENDER BATTLE: Appearing in 23 games for the Fuel and helping the Fuel to earn points in three out of their last five games, Charles Williams has earned a 2.80 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. Appearing in the last 10 games for the Walleye, Billy Christopoulos has registered a 2.80 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage through 13 games in a Walleye uniform.
LOOKING AHEAD: Playing their third game in three days against the Walleye, Indy will not play until January 10 when they play back-to-back games against the Toledo. After playing back to back games against Toledo, the Fuel will host the Florida Everblades, Rapid City Rush and Wheeling Nailers at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
