Indy Begins Back-to-Back with Toledo

GAME ONE OF TWO: After dropping five goals on the Walleye last Saturday, the Fuel return to the Huntington Center for back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday night. Having met Toledo five times this season, the Fuel takes the season matchup four games to one and have outscored the Walleye 18-15 through the five games.

THE MATCHUP: Both teams have enjoyed a slow week entering Friday's game at the Huntington Center. After playing four games in five days last week, the Fuel enters Friday having earned points in four out of their last five games. Toledo comes into Friday's matchup having their only loss in the last seven games come to the Fuel on Saturday night.

TEAM LEADERS: Leading the team with 20 goals and 19 assists through 33 games, Spencer Watson is currently 3rd in the ECHL in points. The third-year pro has tallied four goals and 1 assist in five games against the Walleye this season. Behind Watson, Bobby MacIntyre has earned nine goals and 14 assists with the Fuel this season. MacIntyre is the only player to appear in all 34 games with the Fuel this season. Having earned 38 points in 32 games this season, Josh Kestner leads the Walleye in points. Sitting two points behind Kestner, Shane Berschbach has earned 11 goals and 24 assists through 30 games with the Walleye. Berschbach is averaging 1.20 points per game heading into Saturday night.

GOALTENDER BATTLE: Appearing in 23 games for the Fuel and helping the Fuel to earn points in three out of their last five games, Charles Williams has earned a 2.80 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. Playing in his first game in a Fuel uniform, Dan Bakala, earned the most recent win against the Walleye. The native of Calgary, Alberta, Bakala has earned a 1.50 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage. Appearing in nine out of the last 10 games for the Walleye, Billy Christopoulos has registered a 2.68 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage through 14 games in a Walleye uniform.

LOOKING AHEAD: Playing back-to-back away games against the Walleye on Friday and Saturday the Fuel will return home on January 16 to play three games in three days against the Florida Everblades, Rapid City Rush and Wheeling Nailers. Enjoying a week off for the 2020 ECHL All-Star Classic, the Fuel will play two games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on January 24 and January 25.
