INDIANAPOLIS - In their second game in two days, the Fuel hosted the Rapid City Rush at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Friday night. Indy finished the first period down by a goal before Jake Schultz scored back to back goals, tying the game 3-3 heading into the third. Rapid City would score a late goal in the third and pot an empty netter taking home a 5-3 win on Friday.
It only took six minutes for the scoring to get started when the Rush capitalized on a Craig Wyszomirski five minute penalty. Rapid City used their man advantage to put pressure on the Indy defense and pounced on a loose puck in the crease and beat Fuel goaltender Dan Bakala. Indy tied the game quickly when Jack Ramsey and Bobby MacIntyre connected on an odd-man rush and beating Rush goaltender Gordon Defiel. Scoring on a second man-advantage, Tyler Coulter fired a wrist shot through the fivehole of Bakala.
Jake Schultz got the scoring started for Indy, rocketing a wrist shot over the shoulder of Defiel. Rapid City responded immediately when Ryker Killins threw a puck at the net and beat an unsuspecting Dan Bakala. Jake Schultz doubled his goal total when he threw a puck on net and collected his own rebound to beat Defiel.
Taking the late lead with 1:44 remaining in regulation, Stephane Legault picked up a rebound threw it at the Fuel net, beating Dan Bakala over the shoulder. Tanner Karty would pot the empty netter, handing Indy their second loss in a row on Friday night.
