HOCKEY FOR BREAKFAST: Failing to earn points in three straight games this past weekend, the Fuel host the Fort Wayne Komets for their third annual Education Day Game. After falling to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday afternoon, the Fuel are just one point ahead of the Komets in the Central Division standings.
THE MATCHUP: Putting together a record of 2-3-0-1 against the Komets this season the Fuel have only beat the Komets once at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, winning 5-2 on February 9th. Most recently falling to the Komets on Valentine's Day, Tuesday's game will be the third time the two teams have seen one another in 10 days.
GOALS LEADERS: Appearing in all six games against the Komets this season, Spencer Watson has earned five goals and one assist. Leading the ECHL in goals, Watson has tallied 27 goals in 45 games in a Fuel uniform. The London, Ontario native leads the Fuel in points this season, earning a career-high 27 goals and 26 assists. Skating in only four games against the Fuel this season, Brett McKenzie and Brady Shaw are tied for points with seven each. Shaw leads the Komets in points this season, earning 17 goals and 31 assists through 37 games in a Fort Wayne uniform.
NETMINDER BATTLE: With all three goaltenders playing in a game this weekend, the Fuel are led by Charles Williams who has put together a record of 17-9-1-0 this season. Through 29 games in a Fuel uniform, Williams has registered a 2.80 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. Splitting time with Williams this season, Dan Bakala and Chase Marchand have each played in 12 games, earning a record of 9-11-1-1. Employing three goaltenders of their own this season, the Komets have seen goaltenders Cole Kehler, Dylan Ferguson and Patrick Munson start a combined 47 games.
