LAST TIME OUT
In the first half of a home and home series with the Wheeling Nailers, the Indy Fuel took home their fourth straight win to start the 2020-21 season. Indy’s DJ Busdeker scored his first professional goal and Peter Krieger put home his own rebound in overtime to help the Fuel remain undefeated.
OVERTIME HEROES
In what has become the hottest start in franchise history, the Fuel have gone to overtime in three out of their first four games. Unable to score in overtime in their first game of the season, Indy and Kanas City went to a shootout where Peter Krieger scored the game-winning goal. Krieger did the same thing on Saturday night, scoring the overtime winner against Wheeling, keeping the team undefeated going into Sunday’s game.
ONE GOAL GAMES
The Fuel enters Sunday night’s game tied with Florida for the best winning percentage in the ECHL. Through the first four games of the season, Indy has scored the first goal of the game three times, winning all three of those games. Sunday’s game will be the third of nine meetings between Indy and Wheeling through the first 20 games of the season. The two teams met six times last season with four out of the six games being decided by one goal. The Fuel struggled against the Nailers last season falling in four out of the six games with all four games being decided by one goal each.
