Hosting the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the second half of back-to-back games on January 9, the Indy Fuel entered Saturday night looking for their third straight win. Indy would see two late goals from Matt Marcinew and Spencer Watson before going to overtime for their third straight game. It would only take two minutes into overtime before Nic Pierog tapped home a rebound to give Indy their third straight win and a fifth overtime win in eight games.

Coming into Friday’s game, the Fuel have won four straight games, most recently defeating the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday night. Through their last four wins, Indy has also outscored their opponents 18-6. Friday night’s contest will be the third time Indy will host Greenville this season. In the previous two matchups, the Fuel defeated the Swamp Rabbits 6-5 and 3-2, with both wins coming in overtime.

Scoring two goals in Wednesday’s game against the Fort Wayne Komets, Nic Pierog sits in first place in the ECHL in goals with 13. The third-year pro currently leads the Fuel in points, tallying 13 goals and four assists. Registering two goals, one assist and a fight on Wednesday, Pierog will be looking to earn points in back-to-back games for the first time since January 8 against Greenville.
