Coming off of an offensive explosion on Saturday night, the Fuel will close out their three-game series with the Kansas City Mavericks on Sunday. Coming into Sunday night’s game Indy has won back-to-back games over the Mavericks in overtime while Kansas City has dropped four straight games in overtime or a shootout.

Playing their second game of a three-game series, the Fuel visited the Kansas City Mavericks again on Saturday night. Scoring two goals in all three periods, Indy would go on to defeat the Mavericks 7-6 in overtime thanks to a goal from Keoni Texeira.
SCORING TOUCH
Scoring only eight goals in their previous six games, the Fuel exploded for seven goals in Saturday night’s contest. The last time an Indy Fuel team scored seven goals in a game was February 17, 2019 at Wichita. Although giving up six goals to the Mavericks on Saturday, the Fuel have put together back-to-back overtime wins against Kansas City and have won three out of their last four heading into Sunday night.

Tallying two goals and two assists on Saturday night, Matt Marcinew has five points in his last two games. The Calgary, Alberta native had been struggling to string together points prior to Friday but was part of four out of Indy’s seven goals on Saturday night.
BRILLIANT BAKALA
Through his last two starts, Fuel goaltender Dan Bakala has made 53 saves on 57 shots faced. Appearing in 19 games for the Fuel this season, the 33-year-old goaltender sits in second place in the ECHL in wins and in third place in goals-against average.
