LAST TIME OUT
In their fourth game in five days, the Fuel closed out the weekend with a visit to the Wichita Thunder. A lone goal from Jared Thomas would not be enough for the Fuel as the Thunder stole the game in the third period and snapped the Fuel’s six-game win streak.
SCORING STRUGGLES
Entering Wednesday’s game against the Wichita Thunder, the Fuel have only scored one 5-on-5 goal in their last 10 periods of hockey. Although the Fuel power play has been solid the last four games, scoring on four out of their last nine chances, Indy can’t rely on the special teams to do all of the work. With scorers like Spencer Watson and Alex Rauter in and out of the lineup due to injuries, the Fuel have struggled to put together a consistent lineup and consistent scoring, leading to the team losing five out of their last seven games.
COMING IN PAIRS
Sunday’s game was the third time Diego Cuglietta has scored two goals in a game. Since joining the Fuel on February 21, Cuglietta has registered six goals and one assist in 10 games.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Starting Wednesday, the Fuel will play four games in five days for the fourth time this season. Playing four games in five days three times already this season, the Fuel have put together a combined 8-4 record.
