After dropping their first game of the week on Wednesday, the Fuel are looking to respond with a win over the Wheeling Nailers on Friday night. Indy enters Friday wanting to turn things around after having lost three out of their last five games while the Nailers are coming off of a 5-3 win over the Jacksonville Icemen.Â

In their third and final game of the week, the Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers on Sunday, March 14th. The Fuel would score a goal in each period and see Diego Cuglitta score twice on their way to a 3-1 win over the Nailers.Â
LONG TIME NO SEE
Friday’s game will be the first time Indy has seen the Wheeling Nailers since March 14th. Since then, the Fuel have put together a record of 3-4-1-0. Entering Friday night, the Nailers have seen the Fuel 13 times, stringing together a 3-7-3-0 record.Â
MATT’S MAGIC
Picking up a goal and an assist on Wednesday night, Matt Marcinew put himself four points ahead of Nic Pierog for first place on the team in points. Through his last seven games played, Marcinew has registered five goals and five assists for 10 points.Â
STRUGGLING SPECIAL TEAMS
Through their last ten games, the Indy Fuel special teams have struggled. Through their last ten games, the Fuel power play has scored on 17% of their power plays while the penalty kill has killed off 66% of their shorthanded opportunities. The Fuel currently sit in 13th in the ECHL in penalty kill percentage while the power play is 3rd in the league.Â
PELECH’S HELPERS
Michael Pelech is still searching for his two assists to tie 3rd place on the ECHL’s all-time assist list. Through 16 games with the Fuel this season, the veteran center has tallied six goals and six assists.
