Winning in overtime on Friday night, the Komets forced another overtime period on Saturday night but this time it was Indy’s turn to take the two points. Neither team was able to score in the seven-minute overtime period but Indy’s Jared Thomas scored in a shootout to take the 4-3 win.

Earning a win against the Komets on Saturday night, the Fuel improved their win percentage to .585. With Greenville defeating Wheeling 3-2 on Sunday night, they clinched the second seed in the East.
