This season the Fuel are proud to be teaming up with PNC Bank to help make a difference around Central Indiana. Each month, we'll take a closer look at what the Fuel organization has been up to away from the rink in our Community Spotlight.
This May, the Fuel partnered with Children’s Theraplay Foundation. Children’s Theraplay is the largest pediatric hippotherapy facility in the country, providing physical and occupational therapies using equine movement as a treatment tool for children. The Fuel participated in a sensory-friendly carnival, attended the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Dobbs & Aletto Family Children's Clinic, and joined in on an All-Star Parade around the Children's TherAplay grounds.
In celebration of the Indy 500, Fuel players got to visit the Dallara Factory in downtown Speedway, Indiana. The players participated in the Dallara Simulator where forward Mat Thompson defeated everyone earning a $500 donation to Little Red Door.
To close out the month of May, the Indy Fuel hosted their Hockey Is For Everyone Night. With appearances from Damien Center, IYG and Indy Twisters, the Fuel were able to promote a night of inclusivity. In a partnership with the National Hockey League’s Hockey is for Everyone initiative, the Fuel players donned pride jerseys that were auctioned off to charity.
The seventh season of Indy Fuel hockey is officially underway. The Indy Fuel are committed to getting back out into our communities and make a difference in the community that supports us every game. Whether it is our mascot Nitro, players, coaches or our staff, getting out into the community and making us all one big hockey family is one of the largest priorities of the Indy Fuel organization.
