INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel announced Thursday that ten former Fuel players attend NHL training camps. Forwards DJ Busdeker, Riley McKay, Dylan Mclaughlin, Dmitri Osipov, Chad Yetman and goaltenders Tom Aubrun, Collin Delia, Kevin Lankinen - will be participating in this year's Blackhawks training camp, which opens Thursday, September 23 at Fifth Third Arena.
Additionally, forward Brent Gates will be joining the Seattle Kraken in their inaugural training camp. Gates played four games for the Fuel last season before signing a pro-tryout agreement with the Rochester Americans. As the first former Fuel player to play in the NHL, Justin Holl will attend the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp.
Three players will enter the 2021-22 season under contract with the Blackhawks after each of them spent time with the Rockford IceHogs in 2020-21. Yetman played nine games for the Fuel last season while Busdeker, McKay, Osipov and Aubrun each spent time with the Fuel last year. After becoming the second Fuel alumni to play for the Blackhawks, Kevin Lankinen played 37 for the Blackhawks last season while Delia played 10 games between the Blackhawks and IceHogs.
The Blackhawks training camp roster includes a total of 63 players, 38 forwards, 18 defensemen and seven goaltenders. Seattle training camp begins Thursday morning and consists of 26 forwards, 13 defensemen and five goaltenders.
