Saturday’s contest is the first of back-to-back home games against the Fort Wayne Komets. Entering Saturday night, the Fuel have a 3-3-0-0 record at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, one of them a shutout against the Komets on November 17.
SPECIAL TEAMS HELP
The Fuel will face a Fort Wayne Komets team on Saturday that is 6th in the ECHL on the penalty kill. Indy’s special teams has struggled this season, scoring on 14.3% of their chances and killing off 75.4% of their penalties.
DEFENSIVE PRODUCTION
The Fuel have seen massive production from their defense in the last four games. Coming into Saturday night, Mike Lee leads the team in assists with 10 helpers in 14 games. In their last four games, defensemen Mike Lee and Cliff Watson have combined for four goals and five assists.
NEW FACES ON THE BOARD
Scoring in Friday’s road contest against the Toledo Walleye, CJ Eick picked up his first goal since November 7. Tallying Indy’s third goal of the game on Friday, Jared Thomas picked up his first goal of the season. Thomas currently has a goal and three assists in his last three games.
