After dropping Wednesday’s game against the Toledo Walleye, the Indy Fuel begin a two-game weekend where they host the Iowa Heartlanders and visit the Wheeling Nailers. Iowa enters Friday night having lost their last five games while Indy is still looking for their first home win.

Coming into Friday’s contest against the Heartlanders, forward Liam Folkes has goals in each of his last two games. Scoring the only goal in Indy’s loss to the Toledo Walleye, Folkes is tied for the team lead in goals.

Tallying four assists through the Fuel’s first three games, Mike Lee leads the team in points. The 2nd-year defenseman is currently tied for second place among ECHL defensemen in assists.

Entering their fourth game of the season, the Fuel are currently fourth place in the ECHL in average shots per game with 26. Through their first three games, the Fuel have outshot their opponent in every game but have only won once.
GOALTENDING MATCHUPS
In their first three games of the season, the Fuel have only started two out of their four goaltenders. Sharing the load in net, Mitch Gillam and Cale Morris have put together a combined 2.36 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. In his first start for the Fuel, Gillam shut out the Cincinnati Cyclones by stopping 25 shots.
