Playing their first of three games this week, the Fuel travel to Wheeling for their third matchup of the season. Indy has split with the Nailers this season but has not defeated them on the road yet. Wheeling enters Wednesday's game looking to get back on the winning track after dropping back to back games last week.

LAST TIME OUT
In the second meeting of the season, the Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, November 19. After trading goals in the first period, the Fuel would eventually put five goals on the board to earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Playing all three of their games at home in Week 5, the Fuel earned their first back-to-back wins this season on Wednesday and Friday. Second-year goaltender Cale Morris played both games and earned his first professional shutout in Wednesday’s win over the Fort Wayne Komets.
During their three-game homestand last week, the Fuel outscored their opponents 9-7. AHL-contracted players combined for five of the goals as well as two assists and a shutout from Cale Morris. Indy has seen massive contributions from their Rockford players this season. Chad Yetman currently leads the team in points (4g, 9a) and Cliff Watson leads all Fuel defensemen in goals (4).
DEFENSE GETTING INVOLVED
Four different defensemen combined for five goals and four assists in last week’s homestand. Scoring four goals of his own, Cliff Watson was joined by Jacob Leguerrier who picked up his second goal of the season on November 19 against Wheeling. “When Cliff, Leguerrier and Texeira and all those guys are really involved it helps our offense considerably,” said Doug Christiansen. “It also forces the opposing team to defend all three points of the ice.”
Wednesday’s contest will tie Keoni Texeira for 8th on the Indy Fuel’s all-time games played list. Skating in 11 out of 12 games for the Fuel this season, Texeira is on pace to finish in the top-3 this season on the all-time games played list for Indy. Spencer Watson is seven points away from taking sole possession of 4th place on the Fuel’s all-time points list.
