INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs announced Tuesday that they have signed forward Andrew Bellant to a standard player contract for the 2021-22 season.
Bellant, 24, joins the Fuel after playing the first part of the 2021-22 season with the Knoxville Ice Bears (SPHL). The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward has skated in 19 games for the Ice Bears this season tallying 11 goals, 10 assists and 36 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, Bellant played one year at Michigan Tech (NCAA) before transferring to Adrian College (NCAA III) where he played two seasons. Skating in a total of 49 games at the DIII level, Bellant registered 31 goals and 34 assists.
Bellant joins the Fuel ahead of a four-game week where they’ll host the Norfolk Admirals on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Toledo to play at Fifth Third Field on New Year’s Eve. Indy will close out the week at home with a Sunday afternoon contest against the Iowa Heartlanders.
