To kick off the Month of November, the Indy Fuel partnered with the Movember foundation. Movember is an organization that aims to raise much-needed funds that will support innovative projects across mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Throughout the month, the Fuel team and front office grew mustaches while raising $1,500 for the Movember initiative.
Fuel mascot Nitro also joined the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Packing party in early November. Comfort Cases are backpacks filled with comfort and personal care items for youth entering the foster care system. Typically, children are given a trash bag to pack up their belongings when they are removed from their homes. Anthem and the Indy Fuel are working to end this practice while providing the essentials for a child’s first few days in foster care.
On November 13th, the Fuel also hosted their 4th annual Fuel 5K with Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run reaches girls at a critical stage. Strengthening their confidence at a time when society begins to tell them they can’t. Underscoring the important connection between physical and emotional health, our program addresses the whole girl when she needs it the most.
The eighth season of Indy Fuel hockey is officially underway! The Indy Fuel are committed to getting back out into our communities and make a difference in the community that supports us every game. Whether it is our mascot Nitro, players, coaches or our staff, getting out into the community and making us all one big hockey family is one of the largest priorities of the Indy Fuel organization.
