Playing their first of back-to-back road games, Indy visited the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, December 4. In the fourth matchup of the season between the two teams, the Indy Fuel claimed victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones in a 4-0 shutout.
DOING THINGS RIGHT
Picking up five out of a possible six points last week, the Fuel enter this weekend looking to continue their point streak. “I think we’ve been playing well for a while and we got rewarded for it,” said Doug Christiansen. “We made good plays, we’re playing hard but we just didn’t get that one extra play.”
SCORING TOUCH
Cedric Lacroix enters Friday night with four goals in his last three games. The fourth-year pro has only played 17 games this season and has already doubled his 26-game point total from last season.
GOING STREAKING
Jared Thomas comes into Friday’s matchup on a seven-game point streak. Picking up two goals and an assist last weekend, Thomas has registered three goals and seven assists in 14 games.
FAMILIAR FOE
Friday night will be the fifth of 13 matchups between the Fuel and Cincinnati Cyclones. Through the first four contests, the Fuel have put together a 2-1-0-1 record, two of them shutouts. Registering two goals and four assists through the first four contents, Brent Gates leads the Fuel in points against the Cyclones.
BRILLIANT BACKSTOPPERS
Coming into Friday night, the Fuel have only given up four goals in their last three games. Stopping a combined 94 out of 98 shots, Fuel goaltenders Cale Morris, Mitch Gillam and Tom Aubrun have helped the Fuel to points in three straight games as well as a third shutout in only 18 games.
