Playing their first of three games in three days, the Indy Fuel hosted the Cincinnati Cyclones on Friday, December 17. Cincinnati jumped out to an early lead thanks to a goal from Justin Vaive but Indy would see four different players score seven goals en route to a win at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Picking up an assist in Indy’s loss on Sunday afternoon and scoring Saturday’s overtime winner, Jared Thomas has two goals and three assists in his last three games. Riding a six-game point streak, Thomas leads the Fuel in points having tallied eight goals and 23 assists in 29 games.

Having won five of their last six games, the Indy Fuel have outscored 23-10. With 23 goals in six games, Indy has seen 10 different players get on the score sheet. Leading the team in goals, Spencer Watson has scored 16 goals this season, tying him for second place on the ECHL’s scoring list. His 16 goals put him two goals away from passing Ryan Rupert for second place on the Fuel’s all-time goals list.
GILLY’S GREATNESS
Starting in five out of Indy’s last six games, Mitch Gillam has helped the Fuel to a five-game win streak and only allowed nine goals on 127 shots. Appearing in three out of Indy’s six games against the Cyclones, Gillam has registered a 2.01 goals-against average, a .935 save percentage and two shutouts.
CHASING HISTORY
Forward Spencer Watson is two goals away from taking 2nd place on the Indy Fuel’s all-time goals list. In his third full season with the Fuel, Watson has scored a total of 61 goals in 130 games, putting him one goal behind Ryan Rupert for 2nd and 19 behind Josh Shalla for 1st place. With 16 goals in 31 games this season, Watson is on pace to break his own record for goals in a season.
