INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday that defenseman Keoni Texeira has been signed to a pro-tryout agreement with the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose.
Texeira, 24, has skated in 30 games with the Fuel this season tallying three goals, 12 assists and six penalty minutes. Serving as the team’s captain, Texeira is in the middle of this third season with the Fuel and fourth year pro. The native of Rancho Cucamonga, California has appeared in 210 ECHL games, earning 20 goals, 92 assists and 155 penalty minutes.
Texeira joins the Moose ahead of a four-game road swing throughout the Midwest. The Moose will face the Milwaukee Admirals on January 12, then play back-to-back games in Grand Rapids on January 14 and 15 before finishing the Midwest road trip against Iowa on January 19.
