INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs announced Wednesday that they have signed goaltender Justin Kapelmaster to a standard player contract.
Kapelmaster, 26, joins the Fuel after splitting the first half of the season between the Worcester Railers and Jacksonville Icemen. Appearing in five games for the Icemen, Kapelmaster has amassed a 1.76 goals-against average a .942 save percentage. The 2nd-year pro has played in 27 games over a two-year ECHL career earning a 2.97 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
Kapelmaster joins the Fuel ahead of a three-game week beginning with a Wednesday night contest against the Toledo Walleye. The Fuel will travel to Wheeling for a Friday night contest before closing out the week in Toledo at 5:15 pm.
