LAST TIME OUT
The last time the two teams met was April 26, 2021, when they met for what was supposed to be a three-game series. Due to an ice malfunction on Saturday, April 24, both teams met to finish their game on Monday night. The Solar Bears restarted the game with a 2-0 lead before adding on two more in the second period and one in the third. Indy’s Alex Rauter would score in the final minutes but they would eventually fall 5-1 on Monday night.Â
MIGHTY MCKAY
Registering one of Indy’s two goals on Saturday night, Riley McKay has goals in four out of his last five games. Adding an assist on February 9th, McKay has points in five straight games heading into Friday’s contest against Orlando.Â
NEW FACES
Looking to shake up his lineup after losing a handful of games, Doug Christiansen made two trades for forwards Ryan Valentini and Bryan Lemos while trading forward Keegan Iverson and defensemen Ryan Zuhlsdorf. Valentini brings an offensive upside to the Fuel lineup, having tallied 23 points in 21 games for Rapid City. Lemos comes into Indy with 22 points in 44 games with the Kansas City Mavericks.Â
DON’T DOUBT DARIEN
Scoring Indy’s first goal on Saturday, Darien Craighead has three goals in his last four games. Since joining the Fuel via a trade with the Norfolk Admirals, Craighead’s offensive game has exploded. His 22 points in 22 games since joining the Fuel has doubled his points in the same number of games in Norfolk.Â
