INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks and the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs, announced Wednesday that they have acquired defenseman Cam Bakker from the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations.
Bakker, 28, comes to Indy after playing 18 games for the Florida Everblades this season tallying two assists and four penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 170-pound defenseman has split his last two seasons between the SPHL and ECHL, appearing in 103 ECHL contests between the Everblades, Brampton Beast and South Carolina Stingrays.
Playing in 29 games for the Pensacola Ice Flyers last season, Bakker earned two goals, 11 assists and 35 penalty minutes, while helping his team to the 2020-21 SPHL President’s Cup. Prior to turning pro, Bakker played four seasons for Liberty University (ACHA DI) where he skated in 139 games, earning 28 goals, 57 assists and 263 penalty minutes.
