Hosting the Wheeling Nailers for the second half of a two-game series on Saturday night, the Indy Fuel are looking for their first back-to-back wins since March 4th and 5th. Wheeling enters Saturday night having lost 6-4 on Friday and will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak.

Playing the first of three games on the weekend, the Indy Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers on Friday night. Scoring three straight goals in the first period, Indy would go on to net six goals on the night and defeat the Nailers at home. Facing the Nailers three times at home this season, the Fuel have tallied at least five goals in all three contests.

Scoring two goals on Friday night, Spencer Watson has six goals in his last seven games heading into Saturday’s contest. The fifth-year pro has tallied 25 goals in 53 games this season, putting him in first place on the Fuel’s scoring list. On pace to break his own record for goals in a season, Watson is 10 goals away from tying Josh Shalla for first place on the Fuel’s all-time goals list.
YETI RETURNS
Returning to the Fuel on Friday night, forward Chad Yetman tallied his first goal in a Fuel uniform since December 18. Yetman returned to the Fuel after playing in 14 games for the IceHogs this season, tallying one goal and two assists. Appearing in 23 games for the Fuel before being recalled, Yetman has registered seven goals and 13 assists.
JUMPSTART
Scoring three goals in the first period on Friday night, the Fuel went on to score six goals en route to their first home win since February 24. The Fuel have scored the first goal of the game 30 times this season and have earned themselves a 20-7-2-1 record when doing so. Holding on to that lead into the first intermission, the Fuel have earned a 13-3-0-1 record this season.

Interim Head Coach Duncan Dalmao picked up his first professional win as a head coach in Indy’s 6-4 defeat of the Nailers. Alongside Dalmao, Assistant Coach Cole Bell made his professional coaching debut and earned his first win as well.
