Fuel Begin Three in Three with Home Contest Against Fort Wayne

Picking up their third win in their last four games, the Indy Fuel host the Fort Wayne Komets for the first time since December 1st. The Fuel come into the game looking to extend their win streak to three straight games while the Komets have earned points in eight out of their last 10 games.

LAST TIME OUT

In the first of three games during Week 17, the Indy Fuel visited their I-69 rival Fort Wayne Komets for a Wednesday night contest. After a scoreless first period, the Fuel jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second period thanks to a goal from Seamus Malone. Indy’s Spencer Watson would score late in the game and eventually held on to win 2-1 at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. 

OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION

Led by Spencer Watson and Seamus Malone, the Fuel have outscored their opponents 15-10 in their last four games. Winning three out of their last four games, Indy has turned themselves around since Friday, March 18. Scoring first in two out of their last four contests, the Fuel have earned a 21-7-2-1 record when scoring the first goal of the game. 

BRILLIANT BRYAN

Since joining the Fuel on February 18th, Bryan Lemos has earned nearly a point per game. Skating in 13 games in Indy, Lemos has earned five goals, seven assists and a plus-12 rating. Prior to joining the Fuel, Lemos played 44 games for the Kanas City Mavericks and tallied 22 points (8g, 14a). 

CHASING HISTORY

Entering Friday’s contests against the Komets, Spencer Watson has tallied four goals and one assist in his last four games. Entering his 156th game in a Fuel uniform, Watson is nine goals away from breaking the Fuel franchise record for all-time goals. Scoring at a rapid pace, Watson is also on pace to break his own record franchise record for goals in a season (31).
