Coming off a 4-1 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night, the Fuel will close out three games in three days on Sunday with a home game against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Cyclones enter Sunday looking to earn back-to-back wins while the Fuel will be looking for their first consecutive wins since March 5.

LAST TIME OUT

Playing their second and final game of the weekend, the Fuel hosted the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, March 12. Scoring three unanswered goals in the first period, the Cyclones would hold on to eventually defeat the Fuel by a score of 5-4. 

WATTY’S WONDERS

Picking up an assist in Saturday’s game, Spencer Watson has two goals and an assist in two games this weekend. Entering Sunday night, Watson has six goals and two assists in his last eight games. The fifth-year pro has tallied 25 goals in 54 games this season, tying him for third place in the ECHL.

Entering Sunday’s game against the Cyclones, the Fuel have killed off 11/13 penalties on the weekend. Having faced Cincinnati ten times this season, Indy has gone 37 for 45 on the penalty kill. Over 57 games this season, the Fuel have killed off 78.4% of their penalties. 

END OF THE ROAD

Sunday’s game will mark the end of three games in three days for both the Fuel and the Cyclones this weekend. The Fuel will only face the Cyclones four more times this season and have earned a 4-5-0-1 record through the first 10 contests. Skating in nine of the 10 games, Jared Thomas leads the Fuel in points when taking on the Cyclones with five goals and six assists.
