CROSSING THE BORDER
The Fuel travel across the border on Friday for the first time since March 25, 2018 when they lost 6-5 in overtime to the Brampton Beast. Since becoming a franchise in 2014, the Fuel have played eight games against Canadian teams and have put together a record of 0-7-1-0.
YOU ALL GET GOALS
Entering Week 20 of the ECHL season the Fuel have seen eight different players tally goals in their last five games. Leading the team in goals, Spencer Watson scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season on Friday and Saturday and continues to lead the Fuel in scoring chances per game (1.04). Behind him in the goals column, Seamus Malone and Darien Craighead are both averaging more than a scoring chance per game heading into Friday’s game.
CALE’S BACK
Friday will mark the return of goaltender Cale Morris to the Fuel lineup. Due to NHL covid protocols and injuries, Morris signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on New Year’s Eve and split time between the Blackhawks taxi squad and the Rockford IceHogs. Prior to joining the Blackhawks, Morris appeared in 14 games for the Fuel, registering a 2.82 goals-against average a .898 save percentage.

Coming into this weekend’s two-game slate, the Fuel are 17-7-2-1 when scoring the first goal of the game. If the Fuel are able to hang on to the lead heading into the first intermission they’ve finished games with a record of 11-3-0-1.
