Looking for their first win ever against a Canadian franchise, the Fuel traveled to Trois-Rivières for the first of a two-game series on Friday night. After a two-goal second period, the Fuel went on to defeat the Lions 5-0 on Friday.
OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
Friday's game saw five Indy Fuel players score five goals against a team they’ve never seen before. Coming into Saturday night, the Fuel have seen nine different players tally goals in their last six games. Scoring his 22nd goal of the game on Friday, Spencer Watson is on pace to tie his career-best 31 goals this season. Behind him, Darien Craighead scored his 18th goal of the season on Friday.
NEW FACES
Joining the Fuel via trades in February, the Fuel have seen production from both Bryan Lemos and Ryan Valentini. Lemos comes into Saturday night having tallied three goals and three assists in his last four games while Valentini scored his first goal in a Fuel uniform on Friday night.
NEED MORE MORRIS
Friday night was Cale Morris’ first ECHL game since December 18. Stopping all 24 shots faced from Trois-Rivières, Morris earned his second shutout of the season and a franchise-record seventh of the year for the Fuel. Appearing in 15 games for the Fuel this season, Morris has registered a 2.63 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage.
