MATCHUP: Indy Fuel @ Reading RoyalsLISTEN LIVEWATCH LIVE FOLLOW ALONG
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel, who are 2-0, will spend a weekend in Reading, Pennsylvania as they take on the Royals in a two-game set. Indy will look to extend their win streak to four games against Reading who has yet to win.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was February 25 where the Royals handed the Fuel a 6-2 loss. Both Fuel goals came from the successful Mandat-Lemos-Watson line that is still intact this season. Throughout the game, Indy took almost 20 minutes worth of penalties, resulting in two early power play goals for Reading.
WONDERFUL WIDEMAN
After week one, Alex Wideman was awarded ECHL Player of the Week for the second time in his career after a league leading seven point weekend against Fort Wayne and Kalamazoo. After falling behind 1-0 early in both games, Wideman was the first Fuel player to strike to even the score and kept the power play rolling, collecting five power play points on the weekend. He will look to stay hot against Reading, who he has one career goal against in two games for the Fuel.
POWER PLAYS
The Fuel have gotten off to a hot start on the power play, scoring six goals out of 11 opportunities with a man-advantage. This is a small pool, but a significant improvement from last season when they ranked almost last in the league on the power play.
