MATCHUP: Indy Fuel @ Cincinnati Cyclones LISTEN LIVE WATCH LIVE FOLLOW ALONG

INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel play back-to-back games against the Cincinnati Cyclones this weekend where they will look to dethrone them from first place in the Central division. Headed into the weekend, the Cyclones have just one more point than the Fuel, as their only loss came in a shootout rather than the Fuel’s lone regulation loss. It will be captain Keoni Texeira's 250th ECHL game.

LAST TIME OUT

These two teams met for two preseason matchups at Indiana Farmers Coliseum mid-October, however both rosters have seen significant turnover since that weekend. During that series, the Cyclones won both games, outscoring the Fuel 9-5 across both games. Prior to that, these two teams met in back-to-back matches on April 15 and 16 to end the 2021-22 season. The Fuel took both games, the first in a 5-4 shootout in Cincinnati followed by a home game for the Fuel’s final match of the 2021-22 season on April 16, where the Fuel won 4-2 where all four Fuel goals were scored by players still rostered in Indy.

GOT MANDAT?

After last weekend, Jan Mandat now leads the league with seven goals. He is tied with two other players with seven goals, but has achieved that record in two less games. His four goal weekend earned him a spot as a runner up in the ECHL’s Player of the Week poll. Look for him to stay hot against Cincinnati who he scored against in a preseason matchup.

OFFENSIVE DEPTH

The Fuel’s roster depth was on full display last weekend as five different players tallied goals against the Kalamazoo Wings, two getting their first of the season. Additionally, every skater on the team has tallied at least one point through six games. Despite being in second place in the division behind Cincinnati, the Fuel have scored the most goals in the division with 27 goals for.
