INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel head to Toledo to face off with the Walleye who are 4-3-0-1 and fourth in the Central division standings behind Cincinnati, Indy and Fort Wayne with the least amount of games played.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was April 13, 2022 where the Fuel took the win in overtime 5-4 with goals by Jan Mandat, Keoni Texeira and Chad Yetman who have scored goals already this season as well. The Fuel also scored both a shorthanded and power play goal in this matchup.
WILD WALLEYE
With 82% success on the penalty kill, the Walleye will be a challenge to get through if the Fuel earn a man-advantage, however with just a 3% success rate on the power play, Toledo will also likely struggle on the power play. Every skater on Toledo’s roster has tallied at least one point except for one, and with two defensemen that have three goals each, the Fuel will need to cover a lot of ground to keep them from scoring.
PERSISTENT POUR
After going pointless for the first five games of the season, Jakub Pour has now tallied at least one point in four of the Fuel’s last five games. Additionally, he recorded four shots on goal in Indy’s last game against Fort Wayne which was his most of the season.
SHARP SHORTHANDERS
After Thursday night’s game where Seamus Malone tallied a shorthanded goal, the Fuel now lead the league in shorthanded goals with five on the season, over a quarter of the way to the Fuel’s season high of 16.
