INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel announced Wednesday that forward Mitchell Hoelscher has returned to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League after six games with the Fuel where he scored one goal and tallied 8 assists. He will join the Springfield Thunderbirds after leading the Fuel in +/- with +8.
The Waterloo, Ontario native has placed 12 games in the AHL with the Belleville Senators across two seasons, where he recorded two assists. He also played 25 games for the Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL in the 2021-22 season where he averaged over a point per game.
Hoelscher was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft while playing for the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL before beginning his professional career.
