MATCHUP: Indy Fuel @ Wheeling Nailers
PUCK DROP: 7:10 p.m. EST
INDIANAPOLIS- After a 6-4 win against the Nailers on Wednesday, the Fuel are heading to Wheeling tonight, hoping for back-to-back wins against the division rival.
LAST TIME OUT
These teams faced off in Indy just two days ago where the Nailers pushed for a comeback in the third period tying the game before Cam Hillis broke the tie for the Fuel and with an insurance empty-net goal by Chase Lang with a minute left, the Fuel took the third game of the season series against the Nailers 6-4.
HOT HILLIS
Cam Hillis has been red hot for the Fuel lately, scoring a goal in each of the Fuel’s last three games and tallying sixteen points in twenty games for Indy. Wednesday night, he collected the game winning goal over Wheeling and had the Fuel’s lone goal against Toledo last weekend.
WILD WHEELING
The Nailers currently sit in third place in the Central division with 22 points, behind the Cincinnati Cyclones with 30 and the Fuel in first with 33. They have defeated the Fuel the last time they played in Wheeling and their defense can be effective at boxing out their opponents and causing long stretches of time without scoring. In Wednesday’s matchup, the Fuel were very effective on the penalty kill and adapting to this defensive style. Indy will need to do that again to force a win.
