INDY FUEL WEEK 11 RESULTS: 1-1-1-0, INDY FUEL OVERALL RECORD: 28-12-2-0 Overall (1st Central)

GAME 40 - FRIDAY, JANUARY 27 VS JACKSONVILLE- 5-4 L

The Fuel hosted the Jacksonville Icemen for the first time in two seasons. After giving up the first goal just 25 seconds into the match, the Fuel mounted a comeback but ultimately lost after three unanswered late-game goals.

GAME 41 - SATURDAY, JANUARY 28 VS JACKSONVILLE - 5-4 OTL

The Fuel hosted the Jacksonville Icemen for the second night in a row after falling to them on Friday night 5-4. Though the scoring looked a little different, they faced the same outcome on Saturday, losing 5-4 again, this time in overtime.

GAME 42 - SUNDAY, JANUARY 29 AT KALAMAZOO - 6-2 W

The Fuel finished the weekend with a trip to Kalamazoo, hoping to win one game on the weekend and break their three-game losing streak. The K-Wings were clad in specialty Blue’s Clues jerseys but it was Indy that solved the mystery, winning 6-2 in regulation.

ROSTER MOVES 

  • Defenseman Koletrane Wilson was activated from reserve on 1/27
  • Forward Conner Jean signed a contract on 1/29
  • Defenseman Cam Bakker was activated from reserve on 1/29
  • Defenseman Keoni Texeira was placed on reserve on 1/29
  • Defenseman Matt Watson was placed on injured reserve on 1/29 (effective 1/22)
  • Goaltender Mitchell Weeks was assigned to Indy on 1/30
  • Goaltender Zach Driscoll was placed on reserve on 1/30
  • Forward Spencer Watson was placed on injured reserve on 1/30 (effective 1/22)

OIL DROPS 

  • Forward Cam Hillis has the longest current home point streak with twelve consecutive games at home with at least one point. 
  • Forward Chad Yetman has the longest current road point streak with nine consecutive road games with at least one point.
  • Yetman also has the longest goal streak in the league this season with his seven-game goal streak earned earlier this month.
  • Goaltender Zach Driscoll has played the third most minutes in the league with 1,553 minutes played.
  • Driscoll is also tied for second most wins in the league with 16 on the season.
  • With a shorthanded goal in Sunday’s match against Kalamazoo, Seamus Malone has tied Ryan Rupert’s Fuel franchise record of most shorthanded goals scored with seven. 
  • Andrew Perrott and Alex Wideman are the only remaining Fuel players that have played in every game so far this season.

TEAM NOTES

  • The Fuel are 16-7-0-0 when scoring first. 
  • Indy is 22-10-1-0 against the rest of the Central division which is the most wins anyone in the Central division has against each other.
  • The Fuel’s power play is ranked third in the league with a 23.7% success rate.
  • The Fuel’s home penalty kill is now ranked the best in the league with 87.1% and a 55 penalty kill streak. 
  • Indy is ranked third in the league in goals for with 161. Only Idaho and Newfoundland are ahead of them.
  • The Fuel still lead the league in shorthanded goals with 11 on the season.
